I don't currently own property and thus I don't pay property taxes yet. It is my understanding though, that when you DO have to pay provincial taxes, you have a CHOICE to be "taxed" on either public schools or Catholic schools.

You CHOOSE!

So if you are athiast or simply don't believe in the Catholic school system, you DO NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. Rather, you check off the PUBLIC SCHOOL box, instead of Catholic.... and you send your kids to public school...

When I have kids, I will CHOOSE to check off the seperate schoolboard box, and send my kids to a Catholic school. That's my choice...

Those who disagree with the Catholic system should at least find solice in the FACT that they do not have to pay for it...

Unless i've been misinformed of course... and if you think (or know) I'm wrong, back it up with a link so that I can read about it... I'm going by what family has told me.

You are correct,
you decide which board to funnel your taxes toward.

I tried to point that out to many people. The response was mostly "I shouldn't have to check the box".

You do pay property taxes, albeit indirectly. As property taxes go up, your landlord boosts your rent in order to cancel out the higher taxes he himself pays.

When the last leadership contest was going on I really liked the things Frank Klees had to say. Others who i like to see run are Tim Hudak, Jim Flahraty, Helena Guergis. Gary Goodyear.

He can stay at my place!

I will take Frank Klees or Tom Long.
