What are you expecting from the Conservatives' Green Plan II.

To make it interesting, state your preferred party (or independent status).

I'd like to know what conservatives, liberals and social democrats (non-partisan labels) are each expecting.

Also, propose other measures that Canada should be enacting on the issue of environment.

I would expect it to be enough to give them some good PR, some political ammunition.

I vote Conservative because they're fiscally conservative but, at heart, I'm a libertarian so I have little use for the socialists & communists of the other mainstream parties.

I see no benefit in sending tax dollars to another country for "carbon credits" as per the Kyoto Protocol. While the concept of reducing pollution is laudable, the lack of action on the part of the previous governments means we cannot possibly meet the specified goals.

I'm sure the socialists love Kyoto since the idea of sending other people's money overseas for no tangible gain meets one of their goals- to wit: redistribution of wealth (especially other people's wealth) but I would prefer to keep my earnings and governments have no business taking it from me for such dubious purposes.

So I would like to see a Green Plan which acknowledges we're not able to meet the timelines of Kyoto but presents realistic goals for pollution reduction. I would like to see further investment in research and development of alternative energy sources, specifically fuel cells and/or engines designed to use ethynol.

I'm HOPING for some hard legislation - for the conservatives to place ACTUAL laws about emissions... I'd like to see the california-style law that has been rumoured lately..

My problem with the environment file has always been the money wasted in voluntary programs, and the lack of tackling smog and pollutants.

And my party is conservatives.

I don't really know what to EXPECT... but I can't wait to see

Conservative voter here.

A green plan should appeal to the penny pincher in all of us. Educate the consumer in how they can save money with greener choices, and give em numbers.

Flies and honey. heh!
