We've signed up a lot of new members lately and the discussion is raging!

Let's try and carry this momentum and post at least 20 comments per day.

Around the Quebec by-election I noticed lots and lots of threads popping up and good discussion.

This is one of the more busier forums I visit each day.

I wonder how we compare to other Canadian forums.

No kidding. There has been a steady stream of new members since the byelections. Let's keep this momentum going.

If anyone has any ideas about how to improve the forums fire away...

I love the forum and site, I guess for some random thoughts:

I don't really have a blog, I just come to read the blogs, but mostly I like forums.

Maybe if your looking at expanding and getting more traffic you have the bloggingtories.ca website, but maybe different domain name for the forum and link it all together with the main site.

Because the "Blogging" part on my first impression made me think "oh, I'm not a blogger.."

and if it was something like cpconnect.ca or toryconnect.ca or something like that, when new vistors fell onto the forum they wouldn't be alienated by the "blogging" part.

I don't really think anything needs to be changed though, it works well, and its a great place to visit everyday! :P

I see we've attracted some 'negative' attention, though... What do you administration types intend to do with the troll(s)? For myself, I say let 'em ride until they start to disrupt or engage in personal attacks.

Ditto, I enjoy the Left wing trolls who make their pathetic comments.

This has been my strategy... This is also in line with the official board rules; discussion and debate is welcomed with open arms, but disrespect, threats and derogatory attacks on other members or individuals is absolutely not tolerated. Interestingly, we have managed to avoid some of the real loony types that often come from our own side of the spectrum... and that makes me happy. Certain not-to-be named other forums out there have entirely too much radical, sometimes downright vile content on them.

We do a good job as a community of setting boundries and steering conversation in a positive and productive direction. As much as I enjoy putting my foot down when called upon, I'm thankful for everyone's help in furthering debate and creating the sense of community that allows us to continue these enlightening discussions.

We've butted heads a few times. But you do a good job moderating.
