This forum package allows us to integrate a ranking system for Blogging Tories Forums based on the number of posts...

for example 0-50 posts: Cadet
50-100 posts: Lieutenant
100-500 posts: Captain
500-1000 posts: Major

etc.

Propose your own ranking system for the forums (David Orchard < Joe Clark < Stockwell Day < Stephen Harper)

be creative...

Internet tradition says that people with zero posts are lurkers. People who post anonymously are annonymous cowards, and there should be a CowboyNeale option in every poll.

Better than military ranking system but not enough yet. I'm also thinking of a ranking system

Good. How about:

Candidate -> Backbencher -> Committee Chairman -> Honourable Privy Councillor -> Right Honourable Prime Minister -> Order of Canada

I agree with winston2004 "oh no please..."

I visit a few different forums/boards and the ranking systems really do nothing to help the quality of the forums. In fact I think the opposite is true as some people try to make posts just to gain stars, ranks, funny symbols etc.

You get many posts like "I agree" or "Nice post" as people just try to gain points for their post count.

Lackey>Volunteer>Backroom Boy>MP>Minister>PM

Not sure where the Backroom Boy should be, could be anywhere from where I've got it to just before PM!

You have to have whip in the somewhere, committee chair, backbencher. Since there is only one whip, maybe the moderators could give themselves taht special rank?

Yep and that's why I think Stephen and craig must not put a ranking system in place here.

Lets keep this a good place

The people allowed to post here will be the ones who decide whether it is a good place or not, a ranking system will have little to do with that in the end. If the place gets over run by crazy conspiracy theorists, or nutty trolls then the good posters will leave, ranking system or no. I just hope that the crazy nutbars at places like rabble never get wind of this place.
