Recently there has been calls from many people in Canada for Canada to either adopt a carbon tax or engage in carbon trading.
Now I would not automatically be against these if there was some chance they could work, but the fact is the people who are for these are misinformed.
They will never work because they are uncapped.
For the system to work carbon emissions would have to be capped, but they are not in India or China.
So until the system is capped globally I will be against all carbon taxes and trading. If it is every capped globally then I will re-examine the issue.

PS if anyone wants to make a LOT of money what you could do is build a very dirty coal plant in India, then get the Europeans to pay you money to clean it up so they get their carbon credits and then use this money to build another dirty coal plant, if I had the money I would get in on this scam because stupid people are going to be spending a lot of money on the uncapped system in the next few years.

Please quote any credible reference... credible automatically precludes Fruitfly Guy, the Gore-acle, the Liberals and the NDP.

Then you're not really a libertarian, are you?

They will never work for many other reasons than being uncapped. That won't stop socialists from pushing for them.

Your basic premise that human generated carbon emissions are responsible for global warming hasn't been proved. The "system" won't work; nothing can make it work.

Why bother?

I'm sure Uncle Moe Strong is working on this as we speak.
