Blair was a staunch ally of the US but his party (Labour) are hard-core socialists, Duck, and Blair will be spending his last few weeks trying to ensure Great Britain sign over to the European Union what few final crumbs of independence they retain.

It will be interesting to see how the next round of elections turn out in Great Britian.

Blair made New Labour far more centerist than it was before.
Gordan Brown will in all likelyhood become the next Labour leader.
Clearly the Lib Dems have no chance, I predict abother Labour victory in the next election but really who knows.

I liked Tony Blair. He was a very charismatic leader, who was not a hardcore socialist. He removed the power the government had over the banks in deciding interest rates, which was great to see a Labour PM do. He also was not overtly partisan. He will be missed, especially with Brown taking over.

Yes but Blair is much more centrist than his party however as an admirer of Britan it is sad to see it intergrating more into europe. Gordon Brown who is more deeply involved in the Socialist roots of the Labour party will probably lead more of a leftis Government. The tories are already leading in the polls but 2 years are still a long away.
