Of the top of my head? Unbreakable, Supertroopers, Team America: World Police, and most recently, 300.

Rocky, Jaws, Slapshot, Jesus of Nazareth, Godfather 1 & 2. The Illusionist was really good and you can watch it with your wife.

Metropolis started the whole science fiction genre way back when. Blade Runner redefined it in the early 80s. Incidentally, the term "skin job" used in the new Battlestar Gallactica series originated from Blade Runner. I really liked Dark City too. Barbarella is so bad it is good, and of course, Army of Darkness. I should pick up that book "If Chins Could Kill". Boondock Saints, a real great little movie.
