It is early, but so far it is Luongo for me. Vancouver should have lost that series, and they would have without Luongo.

Other players that are performing:
Dustin Penner is going to be huge in the second round, mark my words.
Comrie has finally found a home in Ottawa I think.
Drury, whose picture is in the dictionary beside "clutch".
Dan Cleary, do not mess with Newfoundland. Ever.
Forsberg was great, but did not have the team to back him up, which surprised me.

Players who did not show up:
Marion Hossa
Alexei Yashin

I forgot Lecavelier and St Louis. If they played on a 3 line team, they would be sipping from the cup this year, no question. As it stands, a two line team without a great goalie almost knocked off the number 2 seed in the East, based largely on the play of these two. The only thing that stopped them was the huge minutes they had to play to carry their team.

How about Scott Niedermayer? He's not flashy but he gets things done.

The 2 best so far have been LeCavalier & Sid the Kid, but they're out now. I woudda said Luongo too, but not anymore after last nite's "performance".

I really hate to say it, since I don't like the guy one bit, but Sean Avery deserves some consideration, at least of the one's still in it.

Avery did not seem to be much of a factor in last night's game. Buffalo got their first or second goal with him in the box did they not?
