I use the term martyr because it is very likely that Israel would respond overwhelmingly to a nuclear attack from Iran. Conservative estimates put Israel's nuclear arsenal at 200 warheads.

I don't think they will wait till Iran goes nuclear. It will come to a head long before that. Israel will make the first strike out of a sense of self preservation. If I had someone threatening to wipe me off the face of the earth I don't think I would wait till he popped me first.

While I believe that Ahmdinejad is a wingnut. He'll get his flunkys in the Hezbollah to do his dirty work. That way he can deny anything to do with it and the UN will dither for years...He'll could also use a Soviet nuke or "homemade" device to divert attention away from Iran and cloud (no pun intended) the issue. He will wait until he can secure his own nukes to make sure anyone (i.e USA) that trys to retaliate will think twice. The US is being hammered by the socialists in the media and western political circles to stop them from taking the necessary preemptive strike. Canada should be standing against Iran and as far as I am concerned the goverment can tell the Iranian embassy to pack up and leave now and without delay.

Why America is not engaging in industrial sabotage against Iran is beyond me. Iran imports 60% of its gasoline. It has one refinery. Sabotage that refinery and Iran loses 40% of its gasoline supplies. Iran could crumble in weeks without gas.

I strongly encourage you to check out Newt Gingrich speaking at Cooper Union about this. He made the point that if the US started conducting espionage and covert activities in SECRET rather than having plans on the front page of the NY Times, it might be slightly more effecitve.

The man is nuts. He held a conference to try to figure out if the holocaust happened and only invited holocaust deniers. I mean...wow...some one please depose this wacko and his buddy the ahatolah before someone (Isreal) gets hurt...

He already said he'd do it.

I can't remember the exact quote but he said something like "120 million muslim deaths are worth the price for 6 million jews."

I think he would like to. But would he? No. Simply because he is not the one who would make that decision. The Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei calls the shots. He is a much shrewder man.

Iranís policy right now is to wage a war by proxy against the United States in Iraq. Iran will act aggressively but will not go so far as to warrant a serious reprisal from the United States. At least not an overt reprisal.

I am not sure who is in charge in Iran. Ahmadinejad or supreme leader Khamenei.

One thing you must remember is that mullahs and their mafia would like to stay in POWER at all cost and they know any confrontation with Israel or US would end their rule, so they won't risk it. But I still take them seriously and I believe they are number one enemy of the west and have held their own people hostage for 28 yrs.

What I know is that to put an end to all these discussions, western world must help bring a regime change to Iran before it is late.

 Mahmooooood has little power in Iran. It's not a question of whether he'll martyr the nation, it's a matter of whether the Ayatollah will. The Ayatollah, of course, controls the Revolutionary Guard, which is the Hezbollah to Iran's Lebanon. The Guard are the ones training and arming Hezbollah, the ones training insurgents in Iraq, and the ones that captured the British soldiiers. Mahmoooood is just a very vocal mouthpiece.

I'm far more worried about Pakistan than about Iran. There's a single man keeping al Qaeda from having nuclear arms, and he's taken a strategy of appeasing them, of giving them land in exchange for peace. In Iran, they've seen the results of a failed revolution and theocracy. There's a large population fed up with the rule of the Ayatollah. The Mullahs will lose their power soon enough.

To answer the question: Yes I think he would.
To sidestep the question: He won't get the opportunity. I have a dozen friends serving in the IDF and they assure me that reactor will be taken out long before that ever happens.
