As the results are known right now the BC Liberals have won a minority government, or at least the right to form one. It's quite possible that the NDP and Greens could form their own government but I don't think Weaver is too fussy on Horgan.
Some have been making the point that the results could change to a Liberal majority or the NDP could win the most seats.
Not likely. Recounts don't change results that often, although when the margin is very thin, it's fair. But a recount will likely change the margin in any one election by less than 100 votes. More important will be the absentee votes.
For the Green, this is a time for a deal, from either side. They want electoral reform, for example. (Who knew this was a Green objective?) They seem to have a far wider vision that just the environment.
They should try to get the two parties to compete in offering policy rewards for their support. That's how the system is supposed to work. The final result are almost a week away. This is their chance to play kingmakers and to get their pound of flesh in return.
The fact is that the NDP probably would have won this election handily if it weren't for the Greens.
