Disregarding partisanship, my experience is that Americans and Canadians are more or less the same. If anything, Canadians are slightly more arrogant and Americans are slightly more ignorant. But that's a very general observation and it ignores the vast cultural differences that exist within both countries.

I agree with the assertion that we are really not very different from each other. Its funny, they think we are so polite - but every time I've been in the US, I've found them to be just as, if not more polite. In particular small-town USA, I would say much nicer than small-town Canada. Of course, I think that we look for differences with Americans, instead of celebrating our similarities.
The reality is that we are almost identical - I think the biggest difference is that Canadians are in general a lot less religious.

Studies have shown that Americans are much more outgoing than Canadians.

60% of Americans are extrovert 40% introveret. It's the opposite for Canadians, 40% extrovert and 60% introvert. This is why you guys think Canadians are more arrogant. Shyness is often cofused for arrogance. It may have something to do with the extreme weather we have here and the isolation of some of our communities also.

As for when have you seen Americans being rude to Canadians - do you remember that Tucker Carlson idiot when he went off about how America does not need Canada(thanks to American bashing by Liberals).

Our immigrants are from Asia and skilled.
Political system is very differnt both in how it is set up and how it functions.
Canada has multiculturalism as an offical policy.
Canada has universal health care.

Both countries are very regional.
Both of us put an insane amount of people in jail.
Both countries seem to value the needs of the individual over society.
The culture we are exposed to is very similar (music, movies, TV, books etc).
Both countries do not train and fund their military for what they ask it to do.
