Beat a dead horse much. Leftards and the media are convinced that global warming is happening. The average Joe has tuned them out.

The media won't change their minds and have reported this year that temperatures where higher than ever. Most studies show no increase but the only ones that get any real attention are the ones showing an increase.

Climate change debates are a waste of time in my opinion. I will give a couple simple reason...
1. Pollution is bad, whether it directly results in warming or not
2. The Earth has always gone through periods of heating/cooling.

We are dependent on fossil fuels for the moment, so why waste the time and effort to attack them. At the same time we should not have any loyalties or bias in favor of fossil fuels. We have the capacity to provide all energy needs with nuclear and solar, our only limitation is battery technology at the moment.

In any case none of this should be a party decision. The free market should decide where the energy is going to come from, not a political party. If people really care about moving away from fossil fuels they will stop buying gasoline of their own free will.(It's called peaceful non-participation) Once I can afford an electric car I will, but until then it is oil all the way.
