It looks like the Ukraine is being invaded, in a sneaky fashion.
Drudge cites an article that says tanks flying Russian colours have appeared in parts of the Ukraine. Some public buildings have already been taken over, and this can possibly be the effort to connect them.
The Ukraine seems incapable of defending itself. To try to fight the Russians on the ground could be a trap, and serve as an invitation to an invasion. But to not resist could mean a loss of Ukrainian sovereignty.
It's easy to blame Obama. His foreign policy seem to be collapsing. He took a front and center role in making brave advances to countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia, and was flat-footed about Egypt and Syria, not to mention the Saudi's, who feel that he has double-crossed them about Iran.
As I see it, Putin took the measure of Obama during the Syria affair, and it was like a chess player playing against a checkers player. He knows Obama is financially strapped, and opposed to a strong military response to anything ... thus, he is emboldened.
We feel bad for the Ukrainians because so many of us have roots that go back to that country, but it looks to me that the Russians are in a very good position right now, and there isn't much NATO can do about it. The Ukraine's own forces are inadequate to the challenge.
Obama might still be right, given the financial situation. Can a country, even as mighty as the USA, get into a war when its credit is (effectively) all used up?
