I think all of us here on Blogging Tories share similar views on the threat posed by Militant Islam to Canada in particular and Western Civilization in general. I see it in our posts, and in our own blog sites, and in the comments exchanged on both. We agree, we post, and we agree. But what are we doing about it? What direct action have any of us taken recently to overcome the indifference of the Canadian public?

We certainly can't rely on the Main Stream Media which, like the public, is locked in a kind of Disneyland of its own; portraying Muslims as victims, portraying Al-Qaeda is an aberration, protraying Canadian Muslims as misunderstood, portraying young Canadian Muslims accused of terrorism as misguided youths, portraying Saudi Arabia as just another colourful arab country. Frankly, the MSM wouldn't know a moral issue if it bit them in the ankle.

Which leaves us, you and me, to do something. The question is what?

I think the time has come for like minded individuals to develop lobby group, to solicit funds, to establish an Ottawa office, to hire staff, to produce publications, to issue statements and to stand up for what we believe.

This will not be an easy task. We are all individuals. We all have jobs, wives, husbands and families. We all, frankly, have fears as well as hopes. Nevertheless, I believe on this fifth anniversary of 9/11 we all have a responsibility to take our view of the world to the next level.

Certainly we should discuss things here; but we must do more. I propose that we set up a bank account, develop a payment mechanism through PayPal, and organize a weekly telephone conference call with monies paid into the account. Clearly those most interested will be those who pay in their "dues" of, say $25, and that will keep the numbers at a reasonable level until we can create a proper organizational structure.

So how aboout it, eh?

Exactly, we have appeased China and various dictatorships for too long. It's time to invade them all today! Anything less is appeasement! You get your stuff together and meet me at the front!

Always loved the straw man, but not as much as the slippery slope. Of course the most beloved of all is the personal attack, which is probably coming next.

The straw man of people who support tyranny because they don't support invading and occupying countries, the slippery slope of suggest that any sort of humility or selectivity is appeasement and therefore leads us to another Holocaust, or the personal attack that calls someone like Layton "Taliban Jack"?

Gotta love the irony.
